As an Artist/芸術家として

I am a Japanese American artist/illustrator. I have an interest in the connection between emotion and color. Not only the emotion that appears in facial expression, I want to seek the inner emotion and express it through color. In other words, my color could express true emotion. True emotion in my art could be used for an important message to the viewer and to the world.  
I also have the interest to express non-visible things including atmosphere and mood. Atmosphere and mood in the art could lead the viewers to another world that gives different messages including hope. My eternal goal is to be an artist who can provide a colorful world that could deliver a meaningful message through viewers’ hearts.
 
Art could just be beautiful, interesting, or enjoyable too. I also love an artwork or illustration that does not include any message but is beautiful and/or cheerful. Simple beauty and/or cheerfulness could create happiness for the viewer.
 
I like to challenge different types of media including, watercolor, acrylic gouache, acrylic, drawing, digital painting, ceramics, photo (Photoshop), and other media that I feel interesting to challenge. 
 
私はアメリカ出身の日本人です。芸術家、画家、そしてイラストレーターとして、私は人の感情と色の関係性にとても興味があります。表情から読み取れる感情だけではなく、内なる感情も色として表したいと思っています。言い換えるのであれば、私の使う色は本性、本心、本当の感情などを表していると思います。私の作品で表している本当の感情は、見る人にとって、そして世界にとって、とても大事なメッセージ性があると思います。
 
雰囲気やムードなどの見えないものを作品に表すことにも、とても興味があります。作品内の雰囲気やムードは見る人を別世界に導くことができます。作品にもよりますが、その別世界には様々な方向性のメッセージ（例えば、希望など）があります。私の芸術家としての永遠の目標は、様々な作品を作り、たくさんの人たちの心にメッセージを与え続けることです。
 
芸術は時に純粋な美しさ、興味深さ、面白さなどを楽しむものでもいいと思います。たとえメッセージ性などが作品になくとも、私は美しい作品や、楽しい作品も好きです。純粋な美しさ、楽しさなどが含む私の作品は見る人に幸せを与えてくれると思います。
 
私は様々なことに興味があり、挑戦を惜しみません。私は、水彩。アクリルガッシュ、アクリル、陶芸、写真などをしております。他の画材や技法にもチャレンジしており、これからも新しいものにも挑戦したいと思います。
